HOW TO FIND THE FACTORS OF A NATURAL NUMBER
Factors are one of the most important topics that 6th-grade students need to learn. This topic is especially important in mathematics. Students state that this topic is not difficult and that they enjoy learning it.
A factor of a natural number is also a divisor of that natural number. For example, the divisors of the number 6 are 1, 2, 3, and 6. That is, the number 6 has four factors, or divisors.
1 x 6 = 6
2 x 3 = 6. Two of these factors, namely 2 and 3, are expressed as prime factors.
Let’s find out how many natural number factors the number 30 has. And which of these are prime factors.
1 x 30 = 30
2 x 15 = 30
3 x 10 = 30
5 x 6 = 30. So its factors are: 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 10, 15, 30. There are eight of them. Of these numbers, 2, 3, and 5 can be described as its prime factors.
Every natural number that divides another natural number without a remainder is called a factor or divisor.
Find all the factors of this number and add them to the list.
