Order of Operations for 5 grade

Order of Operations – Grade 5 (Short Info for Exam)

The order of operations shows us the correct sequence to solve mathematical expressions. It helps everyone reach the same answer.

We usually follow these steps:

  1. Parentheses ( ) – Solve inside first
  2. Multiplication and Division – From left to right
  3. Addition and Subtraction – From left to right

This rule is also called PEMDAS:

  • P: Parentheses
  • E: (Exponents – usually not widely used in Grade 5)
  • M: Multiplication
  • D: Division
  • A: Addition
  • S: Subtraction

Example:
8 + 4 × 2 = 8 + 8 = 16
(First multiply, then add.)

About the Exam:
This exam is designed as both a test and a problem-solving activity. It helps students practice solving expressions correctly by following the order of operations. It improves problem-solving skills, reduces mistakes, and helps students become more successful in their school lessons. We wish everyone good luck!
